About this event

Beyond the Classroom

Sarasota County School's "A" rating fails to reflect the most challenging issues facing our district schools today.  Our Education Action Team's School Board 'Report Cards' document a litany of concerns that have been voiced repeatedly and been ignored.  Just recently a resolution affirming cooperation with ICE brought out hundreds of speakers, including students, who spoke in opposition.

Our panel discussion, moderated by Jill Lewis-Spector PhD,  will include Holly Bullard, Lucas Carpenter, Deborrah HaysNorman Olshansky and Jody Oseola . All of our speakers have been invited due to their expertise in one of the topics to be discussed.

  • Vouchers
  • Student experiences
  • Schools of Hope
  • Separation of Church and State
  • Parental engagement
Learn about these issues, the advocacy being done  and what you can do to protect our schools.
