HOT TOPICS LUNCHEON - Access and Affordability: The Impact of Healthcare Cuts on our Community

About this event

Florida leads the nation in the percentage of the population accessing insurance
through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The upcoming expiration of insurance subsidies for
ACA accounts is expected to significantly impact Sarasota County and the rest of Florida
by making health insurance unaffordable for millions, leading to higher numbers of uninsured
individuals,  increasing strain on healthcare providers and worsening health outcomes.

Our expert panelists,  Holly Bullard and Irene Fleshner,  will shine a light on the local  impact
of federal and state healthcare cuts in terms of access and affordability.

Some of the topics to be discussed include:

  • How Florida’s  Medicaid requirements and coverage compare to other states.
  • How  policy changes are affecting the current requirements for financial  assistance for healthcare.
  • What are “enhanced subsidies” to ACA and how will their expiration affect premiums?

    Q&A session will follow.

Please note, a $2.00 Technology Fee will be added to non-member credit card transactions.
