About this event
The League has declared a Constitutional Crisis. At this luncheon event, our panelists will spotlight and discuss the current threats and their impact on the State and local level. Each speaker will also share how their organization is responding. Audience members will be invited to ask questions.
Our panelists include:
Attorney Jaime Delgado
Past President of the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce, past President of Manatee Educational Television, and a bilingual speaker.
Among his many awards are the Manatee County Bar Association Community Service Award, Florida Trends’ Best Up and Coming Attorneys Award, and the William Grimes Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service.
Mr. Delgado is a frequent speaker on immigration issues and has addressed the Manatee League, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sarasota and other organizations on this topic.
Leslie Laney
Station Manager of WUSF.
Leslie has been instrumental in the organization's growth and evolution since 2018. Her tenure began with a strategic focus on leading WUSF's digital transformation, a commitment that has significantly expanded the station's ability to connect with and serve its community through a vastly increased digital footprint.
WUSF reaches audiences in West Central Florida and beyond through its two public radio stations—WUSF 89.7 and Classical WSMR 89.1/103.9—and a thriving ecosystem of digital media platforms, including wusf.org, wsmr.org, and ArtsAxisFlorida.org. This digital expansion includes popular podcasts like The Bay Blend, Our Changing State, The Zest and Studio Sessions.
Leslie is also passionate about mentoring emerging talent, with student interns holding meaningful roles throughout WUSF, from the newsroom to classical programming and digital marketing.
