On the five year anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re showing up to make some good, necessary trouble, right here in Sarasota.
From 8 to 10 AM, join us at the Bayfront with your signs and your voices. We’ll gather, wave signs, and march through downtown Sarasota to stand up against the Trump administration’s ongoing attacks on our civil and human rights, from voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest. We are standing up because we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.
This is part of a national day of nonviolent action to honor John Lewis’s legacy and remind those in power that in America, the power lies with the people.
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
