A Trans Workshop with the League of Women Voters

This workshop will cover Transgender vocabulary, the use of Pronouns,
a legislative update and ways you can be a Trans ally.

Dawnyelle Singleton is a Sarasota native and nonprofit education professional. Dawnyelle is respected for her work as a community advocate. Her career includes being a school administrator at Visible Men Academy and an Executive at Forty Carrots Family Center. Currently, Dawnyelle is the Manager of Volunteers and Community Programs at Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. Dawnyelle is a product of the Sarasota County Public School system and a graduate of Florida State University. Most recently she ran for School Board, District 1 in Sarasota County. She holds memberships with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Sarasota Black Caucus, ASALH, and the League of Women Voters. She is a graduate of Leadership Sarasota, Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, a 2021 graduate of the Florida Institute for Political Leadership, and most recently completed the Grassroots Organizing Strategy Leadership Academy.
