Charter Review Board - what . . .

October 27th (5:30-6:30pm)

Charter Review Board (CRB): what you need to know before voting in the November General Election

Local government impacts your life every single day!
Come find out more.
Jon Thaxton, Senior Vice President for Community Leadership, Gulf Coast Foundation, will discuss what the CRB is, what it does, and how its actions impact Sarasota County citizens. The 10 CRB members are elected countywide in staggered terms of four years, two from each of the five county commission districts. On November’s ballot are candidates from three districts. The CRB functions to review and propose changes to the county charter, the foundational document for county governance. As we saw in the August primary election, elections for local offices like the CRB have garnered increased significance and attention by voters. Attend this presentation to be better informed and prepared to vote in the Nov 8 General Election.
