Reproductive Rights: Facing a Post-Roe Reality


During these tenuous times, attacks against reproductive rights, especially the right to choose an abortion, are at an all time high across the nation. We will discuss the current state of reproductive health access in Florida and across the country, as well as what it could mean for pregnant persons seeking abortion in the event the Supreme Court of the United States finds in favor of the State of Mississippi in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Org scheduled for oral argument on December 1st.

The speakers:

Stacey Kroto is a graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in sociology. Her work experience has led her to appreciate the complex aspects of healthcare and health insurance which has informed her beliefs on reproductive rights issues. Stacey now co-chairs the Social Justice Action Team for the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area,  along with Ginger Mundy, the Reproductive Health & Justice Committee on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Florida.
 

Ginger Mundy attended the University of Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Business. She pursued a career in the chemical industry, and then co-founded Cater Nation. She has been an entrepreneur for more than 17 years.

She has been a member of the League of Women Voters of Orange County since 2018 and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as a member of the Women's Rights Committee. In 2021, she became co-chair of the Reproductive Health & Justice Action Team for the League of Women Voters of Florida. Along with her co-chair, Stacey Kroto, she represents LWVFL in the Floridians for Reproductive Freedom Coalition and in two of the working groups - Local Campaigns and Local Defense.
