Step Up for Students - Millions for Private School Vouchers

Dr. Butzin will share information gathered by the LWV Education Task Force about Step Up for Students. This 20 year old private organization is the conduit for an unregulated school system without standards being created by the Florida Legislature. It awards and manages tax credit scholarships for a variety of students, diverting billions of dollars from the general fund from which public education funds are provided. The investigation, powered by LWVFL volunteers, attempts to educate FL voters about the shadowy operations of the Step Up organization.
