Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters of Sarasota County conducts candidate forums to encourage informed and
active participation in our local elections. Viewers have the option to attend in person, live-stream or watch a
recording.

Forums help us determine which candidates align with our values and who we want to support with our votes.
Every year, state and local Leagues host candidate debates and forums at all levels of government, from
congressional races to statewide offices, city government, local school boards, and everything in between. Due
to our deep roots and long history of nonpartisanship, communities nationwide have put their trust in the
League to host these events.

Informational Panels

And Community Events
Check out our Event Calendar
where you will find a wide variety
of activities and events covering
topics of current interest to our
community.

We invite speakers
who are knowledgeable and
respected in their area of
expertise and we strive to
represent both sides of
controversial issues during our
panel discussions. Most of our
programs are open to the public.
We generally hold them at one of
our public libraries and stream
them on one.
