About this event
Sarasota is one of only 20 Florida counties that have the home rule powers of a charter county and the only one with a board elected by voters.
Perhaps the most under appreciated, underrated of Sarasota County's elected bodies, the Sarasota Charter Review Board can exert a major influence on our government and quality of life. It is, and has been, a board that has been largely captured by monied special interests. Voter awareness can change this.
Two members are elected (countywide) from each of the county’s five districts to serve, without pay in staggered four-year terms.
