League of Women Voters of Sarasota County sponsored a nonpartisan rally Saturday morning, July 5, in support of their mission to 'Empower Voters and Defend Democracy.' The hour-long rally was held at South Bayfront Drive between Ringling Boulevard and Selby Gardens.
200 people showed up for the LWVSRQ nonpartisan Empower Voters and Defend Democracy Rally Saturday morning along South Bayfront Drive. The rally was a part of Unite and Rise 8.5, "the League's nationwide campaign to mobilize some 8.5 million voters to protect democratic institutions and fight back against authoritarianism through advocacy, mobilization, civic education, and engagement."
